The City of Kannapolis, located minutes north of Charlotte, N. C. along the I-85 corridor, has gained the reputation of being a visionary forward thinking City. The City has much to offer including all the usual superlatives you hear cities tout – but of course, we think we are the best at welcoming businesses. Whether you are an entrepreneur, or a major industry leader Kannapolis has the environment you are seeking. We are ready to help you discover the potential of your business.
A Hub of Economic Momentum – As a growing and thriving community we had a vision for a healthier city with a completely revitalized downtown. We reimagined our entire downtown as an urban park, invested in infrastructure, opened the Atrium Health Ballpark and leveraged a public parking deck to garner a new mixed-use district featuring over 200 apartments. Over 40 new retail shops, restaurants, a brewery and cidery and more have opened up in the last two years.
We are excited to have three new industrial locations that could be the new home of your business. All three are along the widened I-85 corridor in Kannapolis.
Metro63 – under construction on Lane Street off I-85. Trammell Crow Company is building this new 755,928 square foot Class A logistics facility. Completion is expected in late 2022.
Lakeshore Corporate Park, also under construction on Lane Street off I-85. Construction started this summer on 700,000 square feet of industrial space across three buildings. It will be completed by the end of 2023.
Overlook85 – is the industrial portion of the Kannapolis Crossing mixed use project off I-85 at Old Beatty’s Ford Road. Phase 1 includes up to 1.2M SF of industrial space to be completed by the end of 2023.
