Five new police officers, Edward Mena, Chase Faine, Brandon Shue, Dominic Pillo, and Jordan Young have joined the Kannapolis Police Department. All have been assigned to patrol squads and will receive additional training by experienced police officer mentors. Faine, Shue, Pillo and Young all graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Mena completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Mitchell Community College. 

Edward Mena is a graduate of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of Luis and Maria Medina of Staten Island, New York. 

Chase Faine is a graduate of South Rowan High School and Appalachian State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He is married to My Linh Thi Nguyen (Emilyn Faine) and the son of William and Alicia Faine of Salisbury. 

Brandon Shue is a graduate of Concord High School. He is the son of Randy and Gail Shue of Concord. 

Dominic Pillo is a graduate of William Amos Hough High School and served two years in the U.S. Army. He is the son of Tammy Poler of Cornelius and Sean Pillo of Huntersville. 

Jordan Young is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Appalachian State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Management. Prior to attending BLET, Jordan was employed with the Kannapolis Police Department as one of the City’s first Park Rangers. She is the daughter of Jeff and Tamie Young of Concord.
