All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. There will be no garbage and recycling collection service on Christmas Day. Garbage/recycling will operate on a one day delay this week (Friday's garbage/recycling will be collected on Saturday). Bulky waste, e-waste, white goods, and loose leaves will be collected on your next regularly scheduled day.

We hope you will visit our Christmas Celebration of Lights. Enjoy a ride on the Winterland Express as it travels through thousands of beautiful Christmas lights counting down the 12 days of Christmas. The Winterland Express and Carousel runs Mondays thru Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6-10 p.m.  in Village Park until Dec. 30 (except Dec. 24-25). Village Park is located at 700 West C. Street.

Santa will also be on hand in his studio from 6-9 p.m. each night through December 23 to hear your wish list and for free photos.  Admission to the park and viewing of the lights are free. The cost to ride the Winterland Express and the carousel is $2 each, and ast Pass tickets for the train are $5.  Additionally, the park features performances from the Kannapolis Singing Bears, a model train display, and s’more roasting.
