The Kannapolis Fire Department will hold an open house event at Kannapolis Fire Station 1 to celebrate the recently completed renovations at the station. The event will take place from 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, March 22, at Fire Station 1 (300 Firehouse Drive, Kannapolis). The public is invited to drop in anytime during the event.

Fire Station 1 was originally built in 1997 and many updates were needed to accommodate today’s firefighters and their job responsibilities. The renovations included updates and additions to the living quarters, showers, dayroom, kitchen patio, training classroom, fitness room, and the apparatus bay.

During the open house, the public is invited to tour the newly renovated station, meet firefighters, and see the fire apparatus. Firefighters will also be giving out safety tips and information materials for children and adults.
