The City of Kannapolis Fire Department has welcomed three new firefighters, Jacob Collins, Tyler Hayes, and Jason Tighe. They have completed all the necessary training to be firefighters with the department and were officially sworn in and pinned at a special ceremony held at the Swanee Theatre. The ceremony was held with their families and other members of the Kannapolis Fire Department in attendance.

Jacob Collins has served as a firefighter for six years with the China Grove Fire Department. He is assigned to Engine 51 at Station 5. He is the son of Jeremy and Shanna Collins.

Tyler Hayes began his career as a firefighter when he moved to North Carolina from New Jersey five years ago. He is assigned to Engine 31 at Station 3.

Jason Tighe also moved from New Jersey to North Carolina. He and his wife, have two children. He is assigned to Engine 41 at Station 4.
