Kannapolis Waste Collection Adjusted Due to COVID-19 > City of Kannapolis | City of Kannapolis

News Articles

The City of Kannapolis contracts with Waste Management for the collection of garbage, recycling, bulky goods, electronic waste and white goods (appliances). Yard debris is collected by city crews.

Waste Management, in an abundance of caution for the health of its employees, is suspending the collection of white goods (appliances) and electronic waste beginning Monday, March 30. Bulky goods will be picked up using a truck with a motorized arm instead of by a person. Items that cannot be picked up by this device should not be left at the curb. White goods and electronic waste will need to be taken to the Cabarrus County Landfill located at 4441 Irish Potato Road, Concord. The landfill is open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday and 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday.

The collection of garbage, recycling and yard debris will continue on a normal schedule.

All garbage and recycling items should be placed at the curb and in your cart. If you have garbage and recycling items that cannot fit in the cart, please ensure they are in sturdy bags or boxes that the motorized armed trucks can pick up. If they do not meet these criteria the items will not be picked up.

If your household has a sick person, please double bag all trash in sturdy bags and place them in your cart.
