From cool, funky home goods and small treasures, to deeply meaningful pieces, Nostalgia Hollow has it all, and is finding success in Kannapolis. Rows and rows of delightful finds and effusive candles make for great browsing—but it’s also the shopkeepers’ personalities that create a one-of-a-kind shopping experience here at the location on N. Main Street. And there is often a familiar smile waiting to greet you as you walk in.

“There’s a sense of loyalty and support that comes from being in the Kannapolis community. We carry many local and state products and we love to feature those folks in our store. Plus, people love to really shop local—my first-grade teacher comes into the store all the time!” owner Ashley Hines says.

She’s one of many business owners who grew up in Kannapolis and discovered as adults and business owners that the city has everything they need to build a healthy life.

“We have businesses, family, school, church and entertainment all in one city. And it feels so safe and friendly here.”

Nostalgia Hollow is just one of the stores opening in the newly re-imagined downtown area. Wide open sidewalks offer picturesque walkways lined with great retail and restaurants. Public benches and whimsical swings offer convenient spots to sit and chat, and the downtown ballpark is open to everyone when the Cannon Ballers aren’t actively playing. The walkability of the new downtown is so inviting, retail foot traffic comes naturally.

Thanks to the sales that have come with it, Nostalgia Hollow is already opening a third location in Charleston, SC.

“It’s nice to see the City support young entrepreneurs. These are local companies, and the business owners live here. We all live close by,” Ashley notes.

“Not only are we pouring our hearts and souls into the businesses, but we’re also raising our kids here. We love it in Kannapolis!”
