(Editor's Note: The previous version of this news release incorrectly stated the closure starting Tuesday. The closure will take place Monday, June 7, reflected below. )
A section of Centergrove Road will close Monday, June 7, to replace the bridge over Cold Water Creek west of Interstate 85.
The $1.8 million project was awarded in April to Dane Construction, Inc. of Mooresville. The contract requires the bridge to be open to traffic by April 7, 2022. Additional work like vegetation establishment can continue through October 2022.
During construction, drivers will be detoured along Camp Julia Road, Old Salisbury – Concord Road, Brantley Road and Midlake Avenue. Local access for property owners will be maintained.
Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, follow posted detours, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
