Kannapolis Fire Explorers Post 001 recently competed in the 10th annual Millers Ferry Junior Fire Muster. This event was held on September 16th at Millers Ferry Volunteer Fire Department in Rowan County. Four teams from around North Carolina participated in five events throughout the competition.

Post 001 had a group of thirteen explorers participate in the event.
KFD Post 001 came home with the following awards:

Overall Event – 3rd place
Bucket Brigade – 2nd place
Firefighter Challenge – 1st place
Flying the Wye (hose reel connection contest) – 2nd place
Water Ball – 3rd place
Tug of War – 3rd place
Turnout Gear Race – 3rd place
The Headache Award

Explorers who participated in the Millers Ferry Junior Fire Muster include:
Captain Shea Archie, Captain Adam Black, Captain Robbie Brown, Austin Aimes, Colton Baxter, Zion Brown, Joseph Najarian, Dalton Mason, Jun Fung Ng, Alexandra Piper, E.J. Rolfes, Greg Sherrill, and Andrew Williamson.

Lead Explorer Advisor, Captain Scott Smith stated, "I’m so impressed with our Muster Team this year. They showed all of us that hard work pays off. Team members dedicated countless hours of training and preparation for the Muster and did a great job. What makes me the happiest is watching these young individuals grow and succeed, not only at the competitions, but in life."
