In celebration of the 100th anniversary of fire service in Kannapolis, the fire department (KFD) is compiling a pictorial-style history book featuring a timeline of the fire service, historical photos, written history, and department descriptions.
KFD’s Pride and Traditions Committee is gathering information and photos for the history book. If you have or know someone who may have any old photographs of fires, employees, volunteers, stations, apparatus or anything else fire service-related, please contact department historian, Firefighter Sean Dunham.
The history book will include fire departments associated with The Mill, Kannapolis Sanitary District, Royal Oaks VFD and Winecoff VFD. If you know any former members of these fire departments, please inform them of our search.
