On Tuesday, August 6, the movie Sing 2 will be shown. On Thursday, August 8, the movie Despicable Me will be shown. Showtimes are 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and tickets are $2 per person.

Blood Drive | City Hall | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 6

The City of Kannapolis is hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at City Hall, 401 Laureate Way. 
 
Doners will receive a free gift such as a $20 eGift Card or a OneBlood tote bag, and a free wellness checkup. (Including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening)

National Night Out | Veterans Park | 5 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 6

Mark your calendar to celebrate National Night Out! Join the Kannapolis Police Department from 5 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at Veterans Park for an evening of food, live music, special activities, and community fellowship.
 
Our police and fire department staff look forward to meeting and interacting with everyone. Non-profit organizations will also be on hand if you need information on community services or to learn more about volunteering with an organization.
 
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The goal of National Night Out is to have police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safe and caring places to live.

Thursdays on Main: Too Much Sylvia | Veterans Park | 6 p.m., Thursday, August 8 

Thursdays on Main is back this week with Too Much Sylvia. Join us in Veterans Park at 6 p.m., this Thursday, August 8. Veterans Park is located at 119 N. Main Street. 

The concert is free to the public. Children 18 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. No pets or smoking please. Food/drinks will be available for purchase, or attendees can bring their own food and nonalcoholic drinks. Coolers are allowed with no outside alcohol. Coolers are subject to search. Lawn chairs are permitted.

Concert in the Park: KC and the Sunshine Band | Village Park | 7 p.m., Saturday, August 10

Join us at 7 p.m. this Friday, August 10, for KC and the Sunshine Band. (700 W C Street)

A fan favorite, KC and the Sunshine Band has been performing their iconic music for over 37 years. They have sold over one million albums and have has numerous number one hits. Some of their songs include “Boogie Shoes”, “Get Down Tonight” and “Please Don’t Go”. 

Please take time to review the parking map and shuttle stops for the evening. The Village Park shuttle service will be for concertgoers only between the hours of 5-11 p.m. (Editor’s Note: Shuttle map is in the dropbox link.)

Food/Drinks are available for purchase or attendees can bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages. No outside alcohol is permitted – coolers subject to inspection. No pets or smoking, please. Lawn chairs are permitted. Children 18 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
