Due to the anticipated rainy weather tomorrow evening, the City of Kannapolis is rescheduling its National Night Out festivities. The event will now be held from 5-7 p.m., on October 1 at Veterans Park, 119 N. Main Street.
If you are a resident of Kannapolis with school aged children, you are welcome to come to the Kannapolis Police Department from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on August 6 or from 3-5 p.m. on August 8 to receive a free bookbag with school supplies. There is a limited supply of bookbags and this distribution will be on a first-come basis.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The goal of National Night Out is to have police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safe and caring places to live.
