The American Red Cross in conjunction with Kannapolis Fire, Police, and Parks & Rec. departments will host Camp Ready Kids at New Hope Lutheran Church in Kannapolis on June 22 & 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The free two-day safety camp is open to rising 1st through 5th grade students.


Camp Ready Kids is designed with a variety of entertaining and educational activities to teach campers about safety guidelines, disaster and emergency preparedness. Campers participate in a range of activities including:
• Fire safety training
• Environmental safety
• Health and Wellness training
• Gun safety, bullying, internet security, and/or drug abuse prevention
• Forest safety
• Basic first aid
• Water safety training
• Disaster/Emergency Preparedness training
• Games, prizes, and recreation time
The camp is free but campers are asked to bring a bag lunch each day. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Space is limited to the first 60 people so register today.
