On Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. until noon, Kannapolis Public Works will host a free document shredding and e-waste recycling event at the Public Works Operation Center at 1401 Bethpage Road. The City of Kannapolis is hosting a Daddy/Daughter Dance at 6 p.m., Saturday, February 10 at the Laureate Center in Kannapolis City Hall. The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Monday, January 15th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Offices will reopen on January 16. There will be no delay in the collection of garbage and recycling but yard debris collection will be delayed one day.

Monday evening, the Kannapolis City Council approved two agreements with downtown tenants, which will allow the Downtown Revitalization Project to continue to progress on schedule. Update 3:30 p.m., January 4: The water main has been repaired.   Crews are working to repair a water main break near Rose Avenue. Homes near the break may not have water. A.L. Brown High School is being dimissed early because there is no water. We hope to have repairs made later today. Thank you for your patience as we work on this issue.

Loop the Loop, the fun walking, running, or biking routes in downtown Kannapolis are expanding. The City has expanded the loops to include routes at A.L.
