The Interstate 85 widening project in Rowan County has reached a significant as the highway opened to four lanes in each direction. The new Exit 65 (I-85 and Old Beatty Ford Road) is also now open. This exit will improve connectivity to the cities of Landis, China Grove, and Kannapolis. The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Offices will reopen on November 12. There will be no delay in the collection of garbage and recycling. Monday’s yard debris and loose-leaf collection will be delayed until the following week. The second half of the Run Kannapolis Series is underway. There are only three runs left in 2019. The Fall Back 5K starts and ends on the beautiful NC Research Campus. The run will start at 1:50 a.m. this weekend on November 3.
