The City’s new City Hall and Police Headquarters will be dedicated on December 14. Beginning Monday, October 19, the City will begin collection of loose leaves. The loose leaf collection service will continue until Friday, March 4, 2016. During the loose leaf collection period it is not necessary to bag leaves for them to be collected. However, if you do choose to bag your leaves, the bags will be collected weekly, the same day your garbage is collected. What day will your loose leaves be collected? Bi-annual hydrant maintenance is underway in Kannapolis. During the month of October, fire hydrants across the city will be flushed and checked by Kannapolis Fire Department personnel. Hydrants will be tested between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Any flowing of hydrants will occur 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.
