All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Monday, January 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. There will be no delay in garbage or recycling collection but there will be a one day delay in loose leaf and yard waste collection.

It was a cold but beautiful snowy night for the 79th Annual Cannon Pharmacy Kannapolis Christmas Parade. The parade kicked off with this year’s parade grand marshal, Martha Earnhardt. A native of Kannapolis, Martha Earnhardt is well-known as the matriarch of the Earnhardt racing family.
