The Kannapolis City Council has approved the Fiscal Year 2022 budget. The approved budget is $85,250,848 and includes all six operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax or utility fee increases.   The current tax rate will remain at .63 cents per $100 valuation – a home valued at $200,000 will pay $1,260 annually in property taxes for all City services. Cheryl and Eric Dearmon have gifted two public art sculptures, “Smiley” and “Discover” to the City of Kannapolis. A section of a Rowan County road is scheduled to close next week while a culvert that runs under it is replaced. Reeves Island Road is set to close just south of Old Beatty Ford Road from 8 a.m. June 7 through 3:30 p.m. June 11.
