The City of Kannapolis contracts with Waste Management for the collection of garbage, recycling, bulky goods, electronic waste and white goods (appliances). Yard debris is collected by city crews. Rider Transit plans to suspend fare collections on all routes effective at 5:30 p.m. today, March 26. Jiggy with the Piggy 2020, which had been planned for April 29 – May 3 in downtown Kannapolis has been canceled. Due to the current restrictions on mass gatherings and the timely decisions we need to make regarding plans for the festival we have had to make this difficult decision to not hold the event in 2020.
