Kansas City Barbeque judges spent Saturday very carefully judging over teams from six states who competed in the categories of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket at the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival in Kannapolis.   Judges, from several states, chose the winners based on taste, appearance and tenderness. January 27, 2022 8 p.m.  Repairs are complete and water service is restored.  5 p.m. There is a water main break in the Summers Walk Subdivision area.  Crews are working now to repair the line as quickly as possible.

Rider Transit service is CANCELED today. Rider service will resume at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday,  January 23. Friday's garbage route collection delayed until Monday.  City staff have been busy as the weather produced snow-covered roads throughout the area. We had almost 2 inches of snow.  The Kannapolis 911 center answered multiple calls reporting accidents, stranded motorists, and blocked roads, in addition to the normal calls for assistance.  Kannapolis Transport...

6 a.m. January 21 Good Morning, streets are clear at this time and there are no traffic incidents. However, watch out for wet areas on bridges and streets as they could become black ice if our temperatures continue to drop. There is a chance of a snow shower this evening. Streets could be impacted overnight if this happens. Please be careful!
