As work continues on the Interstate 85 widening project, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close a portion of Winecoff School Road to complete roadwork at Tremont Avenue NW. The closure will be in place at 9 a.m. Monday, July 13. The Kannapolis City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2021 budget Monday evening. The budget is $80,523,452 and includes all seven operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase and no increases in utility fees. The City of Kannapolis will receive $230,437 in federal funding as part of the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act.
