Kannapolis City Manager Mike Legg presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2020 budget to the Kannapolis City Council Wednesday evening. The proposed FY 2020 budget is $75,513,726 which includes all seven operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase. On Saturday, May 4, children raced zucchinis in the Kids’ Zone at the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival. During the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival, May 3-4, hundreds of people participated in the People’s Choice Wing Contest and the People’s Choice Pork Contest. Kansas City Barbeque judges spent Saturday very carefully judging 60 teams from six states who competed in the categories of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket at the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival in Kannapolis. 100 judges also from six states chose the winners based on taste, appearance and tenderness.
