Linder Industrial Machinery has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility located at 5733 Davidson Hwy in Kannapolis. The steel framework for the Kannapolis Sports and Entertainment Venue is going up. This structure at the ballfield will house the meeting/conference space, suites, and concessions. Located in downtown Kannapolis, this will be the home of our minor league baseball team. Construction will be completed in time of the start of the 2020 baseball season.

The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Friday, April 19, in observance of the Easter Holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, April 22. Garbage and recycling services will operate on a regular schedule. There will be no yard debris collection on Friday. It will be collected on its regular schedule the following week.

Early this morning a water main break occurred in downtown Kannapolis on First Street near the Gem Theatre. This is one of the oldest waterlines in the City. Kannapolis Public Works Department crews are working to repair the line.
