ALL ANNUAL INSPECTIONS SHALL BE COMPLETED EACH YEAR BETWEEN APRIL 1 AND JUNE 30.

Annual SCM Inspection FAQs

Who can perform the annual SCM inspections?

A North Carolina Licensed Professional Engineer, Professional Land Surveyor, or Landscape Architect must complete the Annual Inspection.

Where do I complete the SCM annual inspection report?

All inspections shall be completed through the electronic process on the City website.

When are annual inspections due?

All annual inspections shall be completed between April 1 and June 30. 

What happens if I have a failed inspection?

The recommended repairs from the licensed professional must be started within 30 days and completed within 60 days. After the repairs are completed, a new inspection shall be completed by the licensed professional.

What do I need to do if the SCM that I’m inspecting does not show up on the map?

If the SCM you’re trying to inspect doesn’t show up, please email byost@kannapolisnc.gov and the point will be added.

How many photos of the SCM must be included in the annual report?

A minimum of 4 photos are required.

How do I submit multiple annual SCM inspection reports for the same site?

You must click the dot on the map that corresponds to the appropriate SCM.

Can the annual inspection reports be submitted by hard copy?

Paper copies are not accepted.  Applicants must use the online portal for submittals.
