The child’s age on June 1, 2022 determines the division of play.

• Coed 5-6             • Coed 7-8
• Coed 9-10   • Coed 11-12
• Coed 13-14    


5-6 & 7-8 Divisions: These divisions are designed to introduce players to organized sports and begin developing fundamentals for each specific sport. Rules are modified to present the optimum playing experience for novice participants.

9-10 Division: This division builds on basic fundamentals of a given sport. Rules are slightly modified to present optimum playing experience for participants with limited exposure.

11-12 & 13-14 Divisions: These divisions are designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship and advance fundamental development. No rule modifications.

Registration opens June 13 and ends July 31.

Youth footballs and flag belts will be provided by KPRD.
Cleats are optional but recommended. No metal or baseball/softball cleats are allowed.


Additional program information will be released online or via email after registration has closed. There will be no in-person parent meeting.


We need your help!! Potential coaches must be 18 years or older, complete a coach’s application, pass a criminal background check and sign the Coach's Code of Conduct. Approved coaches must attend a mandatory coaches meeting (may be virtual or required to watch coach video) and will be given a photo ID Coach badge. Coaches are required to wear their ID badges at all practices and games. Completion of paperwork does not guarantee a coaching position.

Skills assessments and draft days are to be determined but will possibly take place during the weeks of August 8 & 15. You will be contacted by our office if skills assessments are scheduled. If no skills assessments are conducted, then all players will be randomly assigned to teams.


Coaches will contact players after team assignments sometime between August 18-21. Please allow volunteer coaches time to contact each participant before contacting our office on August 22 for team information.
Practices will begin the week of August 22. Teams will have one practice per week (lasting one hour).
Games will be played on Saturdays beginning September 10 and conclude on October 29. Depending on schedules and field availability some weeknight games may be necessary. Practices and games will be played primarily at Safrit Park located at 1314 Bethpage Road. Additional Kannapolis parks, City schools and nearby Cabarrus County schools or facilities may be utilized if registration numbers dictate the need.


Team Pictures - Team and individual pictures opportunities will be available. Days, times and locations will be announced once scheduled.

Sponsorship - If you would like to sponsor a team, opportunities are available. Please see the attached Sponsor letter and sponsor document or contact our office.

Special Request - Requesting a particular coach, teammate or practice night does not guarantee that request, but staff will do all they can to help grant a request.
