Subdivisions
Addresses for subdivisions are determined when the final plat is under review. Prior to addressing, the developer will need to coordinate with Brandy Webster at Cabarrus County (no matter where the project is located inside the city) and possibly Columbus Hawkes at Rowan County (if the project is located in the Rowan part of the city) to get street and project name approval. Street signs are ordered at this point as well. Kannapolis Planning Department will send the final plat to the Streets Department, then send the resulting invoice to the developer through Accela.
Preliminary Addresses will be sent through Accela, then once the plat has been recorded and parcels have been split in the database by the tax office, official addresses will be entered. Once the addresses are input in the addresser, they need to update overnight before they will be available in Accela for permitting.
Individual Parcels or Small Projects
If you need an address to apply for a permit in Accela, please email our GIS Specialist, Laura Coppola.
